The purpose of this study was to present useful data for enhancing coaching efficacy by examining the relationships between leadership type of swimming event and coaching efficacy. The subjects were 161 swimming players belonged to swimming race(103 players), water polo(34 players), and synchronized swimming event(24 players). The measures were Leadership Scale for Sports(LSS) developed by Chelladurai and Saleh(1978), exercise satisfaction questionnaire used by Lee(2002), Coach Trust Inventory used by Lee(2003), and perceived performance inventory developed by Mamassis and Dognais(2004). From the upper the procedure, the results were made as follows. First, female players had more authoritative perception level than male players in leadership perception of player by demographical variables. Semi-national representation players had more authoritative perception than national representation players and others. Second, synchronized swimming players had more social support perception level than swimming race and water polo players in leadership perception of player by swimming type. Third, players with '8-10 years career' had more exercise satisfaction level than players with 'other career' in coaching efficacy of player by demographical variables. Fourth, synchronized swimming players had more perceived performance level than swimming race and water polo players in leadership perception of player by swimming type. Fifth, 'training and direction behavior' and 'authoritative behavior' had positive effect on exercise satisfaction, 'training and direction behavior', democratic behavior', 'social support behavior', and 'authoritative behavior' had positive effect on coach trust in the relationships between leadership type of swimming event and coaching efficacy. Also, 'social support behavior' and 'authoritative behavior' had positive effect on perceived performance.
