The purpose of this research was to study the factors affecting the decision of the physical department in order to establish a proper marketing strategy. The participants for this survey were 600 freshmen from a college related to physical education in a university, and only 413 people among them answered to the survey. The statistical procedure was MANOVA, and the significant level was α=.05 for each hypothesis.1) The most statistically significant factors were department, sex, and high school in sequence. The future vision, the percentage of employment, and the major were considered important. 2) Female participants showed that the price factor was significant in deciding their physical department. They regarded the cost of tuition, the available scholarship or financial aid, and any eligibility for grants as important variables. 3) The place factor was related to sex and high school variables. Transportation, the image and location of the university, and the investment were principal elements. 4) The promotion factor was related to sex and high school variables, and it was statistically significant in sex and high school. Participants selected network system in school, computerization for education and administration, and the service system for the administration as significant variables. 5) Department and high school affected participants to select their physical education, but it appeared that they were only a part.
