To study the effect of aquatic exercise on cardiovascular risk factors in woman with hypertension and/or obesity, 27 women, who aged 50-60 years old, were selected. Subjects were trained by free swimming and water walking program that composed 50% in final intensity, 28-50 min/day, 4-5days a week in frequency, and 10 weeks in duration. To analyze measured data the factor analysis on the cardiovascular risk factor were carried out, and the dependent t-test were performed between before and after training. By the factor analysis, 4 cardiovascular risk factors were classified into 4 groups that were lipoprotein, blood pressure, body fat and cardiopulmonary factor. After 10 weeks training, TCH, LDL-C, and TG were decreased, but HDL-C was increased. After aquatic training, resting SBP and DBP were decreasing tendency, and especially DBP of Obesity was significantly decreased. After aquatic training, body weight, %Fat and BMI were decreased, and especially %Fat and BMI of Hypertension were significantly decreased. After aquatic training, vital capacity, MVV and 85%2max were increased, and especially VC and MVV of Obesity were significantly increased. Cardiovascular risk index of hypertensive-obesity group was highest among the group, but risk index by Stone method were decreased after aquatic training. These results suggest that the woman with double risk factors is more dangerous than one risk factor. However, cardiovascular disease risks are able to decrease by aquatic training.
