The purpose of this study is to examine closely the relation of absorption experience and self efficacy for a participant in the adventurous sports. For the purpose of attaining this aim, it surveyed absorption experience, self efficacy and the like as to the participation in adventurous sports. In terms of the statistical methods used aiming to analyze data, it carried out frequency and percentage, t-test and one-way ANOVA, correlation, depending on the purpose of analysis. As for collecting data, it carried out self-administrated questionnaire targeting 250 women who did take part in the adventurous sports, while conducting the survey from November 2002 to August 2003, but the conclusions, which were unveiled, utilizing the gathered data of total 232 persons except those whose response contents were decided to be insufficient, are as follows. First, in light of absorption experience as to demographic change factors, participants in the adventurous sports had high degree of absorption experience, and the higher level of the absorption experience was shown at a man than a woman, at an older person and at a participant than non-participant. Second, in terms of physical self efficacy as to demographic change factors, the participants in the adventurous sports did not show such a high physical self efficacy, and the higher level of the physical self efficacy was shown at a man than a woman, at an older person and at a participant than non-participant, and as for the general self efficacy, participants had high self efficacy, and the higher level of the general self efficacy was shown at an older person and at a participant than non-participant. Third, in the relation of absorption experience and self efficacy, it was shown to be high in the absorption experience, physical self efficacy and general self efficacy of participants in the adventurous sports.
