This study was to observe the changes on blood pressure and pulse wave velocity in Hypertension Patients Group(HPG, N20) and Control Group(CG, N20) aged 45 to 55 years, before, during and after treadmill exercise during 24 weeks. The intensity of main exercise was to 60∼70% HRmax. Arterial stiffness(vascular compliance) was assessed as the pulse wave velocity(PWV) using simultaneous tracing of the arterial pulse detected in the radial and femoral arterial. The conclusions which were achieved as followings :First, systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of HPG more significantly decreased(22.6/8.6 mmHg) than that of CG after endurance exercise during 24 weeks(P<.001). The blood pressure of CG was not change.Second, PWV in the radial and femoral arterial of HPG more significantly increased than that of CG after endurance exercise during 24 weeks(P<.001). The PWV of CG was not change.Third, PWV did correlate with BP response after endurance exercise during 24 weeks(r<.5).Theses results were associated with an decreased in BP and PWV implying a increased in artery compliance.
