Two major issues have prevailed due to lack of opportunities of using English frequently for Korean students. First, there is an increasing number of Korean students, regardless of their age, are going abroad to learn English. Second, most of Korean students learning English heavily rely on private English lessons to enhance their practical English command. This paper is developed to discuss and raise the issues concerning ‘Team Teaching’ which is becoming more popular in primary and secondary school English teaching. It also examines students’ perception on the effectiveness of team teaching using the survey questionnaire. 150 middle school students were given with the questionnaire before and after completing their team teaching classes. Then the results were compiled and analyzed for the indication of the effectiveness of team teaching. Perennial and casual interviews with students and Korean English Teacher (KET) were also conducted. 30 KETs’ opinions on team teaching were specifically collected to examine the differences of opinions between the students and the KETs. The result has shown that there is a certain discrepancy between students and KETs’ opinions on the positive effects of team teaching. Consequently, it has been found that there is an urgent need for more educational research and methodological reconsideration to create a more adequate and successful team-teaching environment in English classrooms in Korea
