Young adult literature education could give young adults (in)direct experiences, provide the wiser and safer ways to face social reality, or overcome their crises which they face with. Though the term 'Young Adult Literature' or 'Adolescent Literature' is not familar with literary curriculum in Korea. it fosters their abilities to cope with their experiences without taking any risk. Of course, the literary textbooks deal with poems or novels which are suitable for their thought capability level. But these literary works are focused not on bringing up the practical ability to adopt themselves to the society they are living in as a practical education, but on mainly their character education oriented as a conceptual. Character education is important. But if the character education is to be recognized as such, to equip young adults with the ability to change the society ought to go first. The contents of Korean and English textbook in Korean middle-high school includes some literary works. But the literary education for young adults has mainly been substituted with adult literary works requiring the thinking and experience of an adult. These literary works haven't taken a main role for the practical education which is required for the social environment of the hyper-divided industrial world in the 21st century. Although there have been the voices that the curriculum of teachers college ought to be innovated to specific and narrow-down subjects oriented or individualized subjects, none of korean universities and teachers colleges in Korea gives a thought on the practical literary education for young adults. Literary education in Korea needs to be deepened into an individualized practical education. As the society is getting changed into a single family from a large family based, the age in which young adults expose themselves in public and in society is getting sooner, so is the age in which the thought of young adult as an individual is required for the exposure. Thereby literary education for young adult would be the last thing to overlook.
