This study aims to investigate the generation trend of municipal wastes according to region and season in Asan city. Samples from four typical sectors such as individual dwelling sector, apartment sector, business sector and shopping sector were collected from municipal area in Asan and the seasonal investigation was conducted for one year. Food waste from individual dwelling district and shopping district was more than that from the others. Food waste in summer was more than that in the other seasons. Moisture content of municipal wastes from individual dwellings district and shopping district was higher than that from the other sectors. So was the bulk density. The portion of recyclables among the wastes generated was about 20%. Most of recyclables were paper and vinyl/plastic. Consequently, it was found that the separated discharge effort of metal type or glass type waste was enough, but was still insufficient for paper type or vinyl/plastic waste.
