The effects of organic loadings on the organic removal efficiency, oxidation and denitrification ratios of nitrogen and the changes of biomass were estimated by the batch bio-membrane channel type reactor(BCR) using the synthetic wastewater containing glucose as sole carbon source. The results of this study were concluded as follows : 1) The removal efficiency of organic matter was over 95% under lower then 0.8kg-CODcr/m3 of the organic loadings, but it was rapidly decreased to lower than 70% when the organic loadings was higher than 1.4kg-CODcr/m3. The maximum reaction rate constant(k1) was estimated as 3.14hr1 when the organic loadings was 0.4kg-CODcr/m3 and the reaction rate constant(k1) was increased with respect to the organic loadings but it was rapidly decreased to 0.58hr-1 under 1.4kg-CODcr/m3 of organic loadings. 2) The amoumts of bio-mass and denitrification ratio were increased with respect to the organic loadings. The maximum concentration of TS and denitrofication ratio were 5,133mg/l under 1.4kg-CODcr/m3, 82.4% under 0.8kg-CODcr/m3, respectively. The reaction rate constant(k1) and denitrification rate were estimated as 0.73hr1 and 2.8mg-N/g-VS/hr when the denitrification rate was maximized, respectively.
