The purpose of this study is to provide the effective treatment and disposal method of marin debris collected from the coastline in Jeonnam. In this study, the quantity of marin debris was calculated by collected and treated data from coastline in Jeonnam, 2003 and 2004(1/4∼3/4 quarter) by Department of Ministry Affairs and Fisheries in Jeonnam. The composition analysis and estimated volume of marin debris was undertake to collected samples from the monitoring on coastline in jeonnam from May in 2004 to November in 2004, and characteristics of marin debris was analyzed by Element Analysis and Bomb Calori Meter. The results of in this study, the quantity of marin debris collected from coastline in jeonnam, 2003 and 2004(1/4∼3/4 quarter), had 33,646 ton and 12,831 ton, respectively, which 74%(2003) and 64%(2004) of collected marin debris was incineration. In the composition analysis of marin debris collected from coastline, polystylene buoy and polyvinyl, and plastic have the most composition of marin debris by volume, on the other hand, bottle and metals, wood, and fishing net and rope have the most composition of marin debris by weight. In the ultimate and calori analysis of marin debris, the most element of pypolystylene buoy and wasted net and rope, and wasted tire was consist of carbon, which have a very higher heating value, result in can be effectively recycled of fuel material.
