Pyrolysis characteristics of sewage sludges taken from Daejon sewage treatment plant in fall were investigated. TGA and fluidized bed reactor (0.08 m I.D; 1.0 m height) with cyclone are used for the pyrolysis experiments. The char was collected from cyclone and bottom of the bed. The condenser was used to obtain the oil from the gas. The optimum pyrolysis temperature was around 400℃. As the bed temperature was increased, the amount of char recovered was increased and that of liquid was decreased. The amount of carbon by pyrolysis was about two times more than that in raw material, and it was increased as bed temperature increased. The bed temperature did not affect to nitrogen and hydrogen. The heating values of recovered char and liquid were increased with bed temperature. The heating value of sludge with low moisture content was high. The oil and water could be separated by differentiating condensing temperature.
