This study aims at examining present conditions and problems of local agricultural marketing centers and providing useful suggestions to improve marketing activities of the centers. In order the centers to do the jobs well, marketing activities of the centers should be imporved and strengthened as following directions : First, the staff members of the centers should be trained in order to avoid poor management. Emphasis of the training program should be placed on acquisition of specialized technical skills and management knowledge about grading, packaging, product inspection, and market information. Second, the effective collection of farm products are prerequisite for the efficient operation of the centers. Contract framing between the farmers and the centers is essential for the efficient collection of farm products. Third, it is very much desitable to imporve marketability of agricultural products. Farm products handled by the centers should be graded and packaged in advanced at the centers, and joint labels should be attached. For this reason, the centers should concentrate their efforts on establishing product standards, training inspectors, and improving packaging materials.
