This study purports to investigate whether the tourism/leisure satisfaction affects the physicalemotional stress and the satisfaction with life for North Korean defectors. Method of analysis is a path analysis using a structure equation model The results show that tourism and leisure satisfaction affects negatively physical emotional stress while leisure satisfaction affects positively satisfaction with life and emotional stress influences negatively to life satisfaction. The paper suggests that various social tourism/leisure programs are needed to help North Korean defectors so that they may be adapted harmoniously to the new environment.
