The purposes of this paper are to examine changes of the law system according to the growing Multi-cultural Families recently in the days of the Multi-cultural Society in Korea, and seek possible legal solutions to this social issue. Even though we have already entered into the Multi-cultural Society as the number of immigrants have increased, our related acts and the policies for the multi-culture only focus on the aliens’ policy and barely stay around the assimilation policy or regulation of foreigners. Especially, some specific laws such as “the Fundamental Act on Foreign Residents in Korea”, “the Management Act of Marriage Brokerage Business” and “the Supporting Act for Multi-cultural family” have been enacted to support the Aliens’ policy and the Multi-cultural family policy. However, overall supporting policy for Multi-cultural families isn’t systemic and duplicated and also foreign residents in Korea are regarded as an objects of the policy so far. “The Supporting Act for Multi-cultural Family” is a very progressive and advanced law in the way of human-rights; however, their relationship with policies on foreign residents, redundancies in the legal system, and other problems still remain to be resolved. Accordingly, this paper suggests the following legal solutions to improve the acts related to the issue, which are to identify the relationship between multicultural policy and foreign resident policy, define ideal integration of multicultural families in the Korean society, introduce multicultural viewpoints in the related acts, and determine the division of authority between the central government and local government
