This research has shown that regular swimming exercise will describe how to have an impact on body composition and blood lipids targeted to over 60 seniors for women. The subjects for the study are conducted by 9 members of the group and 8 members in the control group, total of 17, for 12 weeks. The variables of body composition and serum lipids were measured in all the subjects before the start of the training program and after at the end of the 12 weeks Swimming exercise. The test data were analyzed by t-test and t-test, and the alpha level of p<.05 was set for all tests of significance. The findings of this study were as follow;1. Effects on body composition. While It has significantly decreased for weight, the amount of fat, body mass index in the Swimming exercise Group, it has steadily increased for weight, the amount and rate of fat and body mass index in the control group2. Effects on serum lipidsIn the Swimming exercise Group, total cholesterol and triglyceride have significantly decreased, but high density lipoprotein-cholesterol has significantly increased, but all the other variables have not significantly changed. And in the Control group, the total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol have significantly increased, but the other variables habe not significantly changed. The total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol and the Swimming exercise Group were significantly lower, but high density lipoprotein-cholesterol were significantly higher than those in the Control group through Swimming exercise for 12 week. Therefore, we recommend actively that it is so effective for seniors for women to improve body composition and blood lipids.
