B. Reimer makes an intrinsic philosophical object of the need and virtue of music, and focuses on 'aesthetic experience'. Namely, aesthetic experience that is the nature and value of music education is decided by the nature and value of art music, and as this provides the nature and value of music of reasonable ground in human life and the nature and value of music education in human life, provided that why the nature and value of music education is aesthetic, and the purpose of music education as aesthetic education. So Reimer asserts that art exists for inquiring and sympathizing the feeling of human. That is, music appears from the consciousness life, and the creational sprit is not separated from the reaction of life, but is continuity of the reaction of life. Therefore, Reimer's music education speaks for ‘Aesthetic Music Education’. But Reimer brings out reasonable grounds from John Dewey's art philosophy for arguing his aesthetic experience. Especially that Reimer directly says that the biological or natural basis for ‘aesthetic experience’ that is the core in A Philosophy of Music Education is very strongly based on the thought of John Dewey, reflects that he seeks reasonable philosophical grounds in John Dewey's art philosophy. The essence of art, the continuity of life, aesthetic experience and the ends and means of art in civilization and culture showed in Dewey's art philosophy, are quoted and described directly or indirectly in Reimer's Philosophy of Music Education. Therefore, it requires the understanding of the thoughts of philosophers that gives the basis of Reimer's philosophy to understand uprightly Reimer's philosophical view and assertion. Namely, it requires enough understanding about the human view, the world view, and the medium that connects them.
