This study was conducted to investigate mist generation and extraction tendency of heavy metal in the remediation process of oil contaminant soil using H₂O₂. Their results are as follows. The remediation process of contaminated soil increase acidity so that solution for the acidification of leachate or underground water caused by the remediation is needed. Extracted concentration of Cd was proportional to the concentration of H₂O₂. The extracted concentration of Cd after 3 weeks of operation was 26.1 times higher than that after 7 days of operation. Like Cu, extracted concentration of As was not high at initial period of experiment. After 21 days of operation, the extracted concentration in Reactor4 showed about 13 times higher than that in Reactor2 and 24.2 time higher than that in R1 that included distilled water. The extracted concentration of Pb in R4 (370.60ppb) was 14.7 times higher than that in R1 (26.99ppb). In addition, the extraction rates of Cd in R1-R4 were 7.44, 14.2, 15.4 and 20.3%, respectively. The extraction rates of Cu in R1-R4 were 12.3, 46.8, 54.2 and 68.6%, respectively. In the case of As, the extraction rate in R4 was low with 5.4% and As appears to be refractory. Hence, extraction of heavy metal in leachate depends on the concentration of H₂O₂ in the reactor. In addition, appearance of mist due to H₂O₂ insertion occurred in 61 items and H2S concentration was high to be 7.39ppb.
