The inter-dependence between corporations, supply chain complexity, the trend of efficiency for cost reduction and environmental uncertainty are putting the corporations at a greater risk.
This paper classified supply chain risk as 5 major dimensions of supply, demand, operation,network and environment and suggested 4 major risk mitigation strategies of risk avoidance, risk reduction, risk transfer and risk acceptance. The electrical and electronics corporations will have to mitigate various supply chain risks based on probability of occurrence, frequency, speed and severity by combination of the 4 mitigation strategies.
