This study attempts to examine the narrative method and circulation ground of 「Bukgwangok(北關曲)」. Previous studies on 「Bukgwangok」have pointed out that it shows the important variations in YubaeGasa(유배가사). But they didn't explain fully why it happened and most of all focused on historical occasions. The speaker in 「Bukgwangok」defends an exile, Song, Si Youl(송시열) strongly and asserts his innocence. He made a much effort at depicting the exile's miserable situation instead for revealing constant yearning toward his king. Journey to the place of exile was accounted in detail and it underlined the exile's difficulty. Also ambiguous point of view contributed to convey his suffering situation effectively. Severs criticism on punishment and strong defense for an exile owe Song, Si Youl's great political power and limited the work's circulation. The work was almost circulated among clan and closed people. 「Bukgwangok」 shows the straight feelings and attitude toward exile much more and foretells what variation in YubaeGasa will be made. In addition it is one of the good material to make up for historical records.
