Since 20th century, Most of the city's rapid Urban Sprawl creates incongruity between industrial facilities and urban tissue which had different public order, which creates a lot of Voids in the cities. Architect, Ignasi de Sola Morales, named these unspecified space Terrain Vague. These Voids, Terrain Vague, show various different forms in the cities, especially, in the rapidly growing cities. Terrain Vague conceptually means the sites which are in specific circumstance out of Voids. So, all of voids of the cities can not be Terrain Vague, they should be classified not by physical space but by city-humanistic qualities. It was negatively mentioned like ‘unused or unoccupied space’ in modern city, but now, it is positively referred to a place which has potential of progress. Therefore, in this study, the meaning and character of Terrain Vague are understood in a broad perspective, the relationship is established in accordance with contemporary urban regeneration, and the concept for application of Terrain Vague is presented. First, To regenerate historical Terrain Vague of the local society, it should be avoided to focus on the building itself. the value of the facilities and land should be enlarged to surroundings to be reutilized. Second, Participation of residents should be enlarged in the course of planing for urban regeneration and the user`s opinion should be reflected aggressively. Community revitalization through enlargement of participation of residents could make Terrain Vague as the place which builds up the solidarity of community. To be a place which can revitalize stagnant community, Terrain Vague should be approached to do sustainable function as a part of the city beyond the simple role of physical reusable facility.
