This study aims to develop a new spatial configuration method using network analysis methods to solve users’ opinions participation problem in public buildings. To this end, socio-spatial network analysis methodology was applied for the public libraries which have various age groups of users, and based on the results, we proposed new configuration possibilities of the existing public library space. ‘Network cohesiveness analysis’, ‘center-periphery network analysis’, and ‘network centrality analysis’ was adapted for the study of applications of socio-spatial network analysis methodology to public libraries. Through the ‘network cohesiveness analysis’, we were able to prove that the density of users’ opinion network means ‘the degree of application of facility’, and transitivity means ‘the concentration level on the program’. ‘Center-periphery network analysis’ was helpful to distinguish between active and inactive programs, and to inactive program’s activation. Moreover, through the understanding of users’ center-periphery disposition, we were able to anticipate the direction of changing space compositions based on the user friendly layout. And ‘network centrality analysis’ was very useful for the renewals of space installation derived by users’ opinions, because that it could reveal the difference of centralities of each program. As a result of these researches, this study analyzed users’ opinions of eight public libraries, and then leaded out preferred space composition types for each age group.
