Public space is space which users are guaranteed rights of access to, where the nature of the public is formed, and where the qualities of a community are revealed. However, in modern society public space has decreased or become extinct due to the block system of housing and commercial spaces, it has been replaced by media development and there has been a decrease in autonomous participation. Uniform and physical resolution based on emotionless industrial and scientific development mass-produced inhumane cities and aggravated urban environmental problems. As quality of life has worsened, the need for a higher quality environment and life is increasing. This study analysed the expressive trend of ecological design shown in public space with an ecological sense of values. It aimed to understand the importance of ecological thoughts as an alternative to meet the trendy needs of requesting ecological approaches, and find out more important roles as urban space, which is oriented toward public space, an ecological environment, and the recovery of humanity. In addition, we have to be aware of contemporary needs for ecological approaches in diverse areas and continue research on creating better living quality for users by expanding diverse public and open spaces based on an organic connection with nature.
