The purpose of this study is to deduct performance evaluation index, considering the obvious contexts and the characteristics of basic science research. Not only has preceding research and interviews with scientists and engineers been carried out so as to perform those studies, but the deduction of the performance evaluation index, grouping and the performance on AHP analysis has been done, considering the features under the standard performance index which has been dealt with for the data with the result index by the national research development. Furthermore, through the statistical technique in surveys, the importance of the performance evaluation index on basic science study has been compared and analyzed. Cross analysis also has been conducted in setting up and verifying the hypothesis among respondents’ cognitive differences between the basic science research and the result index as well.
