This study aims to investigate how to improve English conversation specialists' teaching techniques and to explore their perceptions in the English classes of Korean elementary schools. Fifty-two English conversation specialists in Gyeonggi-do were surveyed and interviewed through one-on-one dialogue and e-mail with a questionnaire including interview questions. The survey and the interview questions were divided into sections by: teaching perception, learning materials and training programs. The results showed they want to have more various retraining opportunities as an English teacher in elementary schools and to practice how to control their students during English classes. With the results of the analysis, some suggestions will be made for the improvement of the English conversation specialists' teaching techniques
