This study is conducted to help in establishing the organization system of Jeong So-san's sword dance, and furthermore to preserve and hand down regional traditional culture, based on the historical values recognized. When the characteristics of Jeong So-san's sword dance of Daegu area and its transmission value are studied, it is found that Jeong So-san's sword dance of Jeong, So-san who was a female musician of the royal court and in charge of Yeoryeongjeongjae at the court, used Hansam as an element of the court dance. The dance costume consists of Jeonrip(felt hat) decorated with flowers and has Jeong So-san's sword dance's own unique form, unlike other sword dances' costumes. Besides, two female dancer appear during the hand dance in a sitting posture and this is Jeong So-san's sword dance's own unique style which is differentiated from other sword dances. In addition, Jeong So-san's sword dance apply for registration as an intan- gible cultural property of Gyeongbuk Province in 1967 and is recognized for its cultural value after deliberation. Thus, it is thought that its transmission value has validity, sufficiently. In conclusion, it is important to understand the value of Jeong So-san's sword dance which is based on each region and preserve and pass down this.
