The purpose of this study is to focus on the changes of women’s image that is shown on the poetry in the Lenin Gichi literary magazine. The changes of women’s image can be divided into two parts. First, the women’s image is claimed for Soviet literature, second, that is claimed for perestroika. Before 1980s, women heroes in a poetry devoted their whole life to construct socialism even though they were in all kinds of difficulties and struggles They didn’t agonize over contradiction between reality and ideals. The author only described and praised their pure behavior, however they never described their inner world. Socialism realistic literature lacks reality in that it blindly follows ideology. But on the other hand, the realities which culture shows may be the people’s hope as well as their real life. Hoping to take root into Soviet ruling class and to be incorporated into main society, in other words, we can understand that it reflect the directivity of soviet-Korean not the worth of others. As distinct from this, new poetry which showed the changes of direction was created by perestroika and glasnost in 1980s. Soviet literature encountered big changes with the policy of perestroika and glasnost. The Women’s Image in Soviet-Korean Poetry showed the changes as well. Surely, ‘Mother’ which they called represents different person, while they called ‘mother’ a labor or a person who concentrated on the construction of soviet community. We can see the differences in symbolizing subjects as well as materials.
