In case of PEMFC(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells) for buildings, many research are conducted along with the steady increase in energy demand. The metal bipolar plate which is the most basic unit constituting this PEMFC, has the minimum thickness that can be flow-formed for weight reduction, and its thickness is about 0.08 to 0.1 mm which corresponds to an ultra-thin plate. Maintaining the airtightness of these flow paths is the biggest quality control issue in laser welding and the minimization of deformation caused by welding heat should be considered at the same time.
