Permanent Make-up (PMU) is a procedure that reveals color on the surface by injecting PMU ink into the skin, and is mainly used for eyeliner, eyebrows, lips, and hairline. However, since the dyes is directly injected into the skin in this procedure, side effects such as inflammation, allergy, and pigmentation may appear. In Korea and EU, some dyes that cannot be used in PMU inks are regulated. However, few studies have been conducted to confirm whether or not prohibited dyes are illegally mixed in PMU ink. Therefore, this study tried to develop a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analytical method for 21 dyes that cannot be used in PMU ink. The 21 dyes were analysed by dividing them into group 1 (Acid Red 26, Acid Yellow 36, Disperse Blue 106, Disperse Orange 3, Disperse Orange 37, Disperse Red 1, Disperse Yellow 3, Pigment Red 53, Solvent Orange 7, Solvent Red 24, Solvent Yellow 1, Solvent Yellow 2, Solvent Yellow 3) and group 2 (Acid Green 16, Basic Blue 7, Basic Green 1, Basic Red 1, Basic Red 9, Disperse Red 17, Dispers
