본 연구는 청년, 중년, 장년, 노년에 해당하는 성인 남녀 800명을 대상으로 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 장기화된 COVID-19 상황에서 경험한 직업변화, 수입감소, 가족갈등, 지인갈등이 외상성 고통, 우울, 외로움에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이들의 관계에서 사회적 지지가 조절효과를 보이는 지 확인하였다. 분석결과, 외상성 고통, 우울, 외로움에 영향을 줄 수 있는 요인을 각각 통제했을 때, 사회적 지지는 직업변화나 수입감소가 외상성 고통, 우울, 외로움에 미치는 영향을 완화시키지 못했지만, 대인갈등이 외상성 고통, 우울, 외로움에 미치는 영향은 완화시켰다. 또한 중년층을 제외한 모든 연령층에서 사회적 지지가 대인관계 갈등의 영향을 완화시켰다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 연구에 대한 시사점, 한계 및 제안이 논의되었다.
