Objective: This study was done to analyze the effect of the unstable surface lumbar stabilization exercise on Posture Balance, Spinal Stability and Pain. Method: : The stable/unstable surface lumbar stabilization exercise was performed with thirty chronic lower back pain in(out)patients in H polyclinic hospital from June to August in 2013. The subjects were randomly organized into experimental group(15) and control group(15). The exercise was conducted by 40 minutes, 3 times in a week and total 24 times for 8 weeks. General characteristic, posture balance, spinal stabilization and pain were measured at initial stage and after 8 weeks’ exercise. Each group’s pre and post score was statistical analysis using paired t-test and independent t-test was used to analyze the exercise influence between groups. Spearman test was adopted to analyze correlation coefficient between scores. The significance level was p<.05. Results: The improvement of body weight distribution and stability was showed statistical significance (p<.05) in normal eye-open test. In the inter-group analysis, normal eye-opened test was showed significance. The spinal stability was improved in L-Spine score and Sacral Incl score in experimental group, and L-spine score showed statistical significance in inter-group comparison. Conclusion: In this study, we showed that the unstable surface lumbar stabilization exercise is effective compositive therapy for posture stability, spinal stability, pain reduction in chronic lower back pain using balance pad, multi-roll, theraband.
