I considered establishing relationship and realizing social value in an unofficial historical story 「ChiSuk」 on the basis of the relationship of Yu Seong-Ryong and his uncle and the free will of the uncle. This was different from preceding researches studying critical consciousness of the ruling class focusing on marvelous and weird aspect of the uncle. I confirmed that 「ChiSuk」 showed the other recognition and suggestion of the uncle, acceptance of suggestion of the other and the other recognition of Yu Seong-Ryong, division of roles and cooperation of the uncle and Yu Seong-Ryong, and defense of hometown Andong, so consequently grasped that the main causes for improving social turmoil of the Joseon dynasty in the 18-19th century were reflected in 「ChiSuk」. First, the uncle was regarded as a fool and ignored by the ruling class including Yu Seong-Ryong, but the uncle suggested Yu Seong-Ryong the game of go and proved his own ability for ontological change. Yu Seong-Ryong wondered suggestion of the uncle, but accepted it. And then Yu Seong- Ryong recognized the uncle as ad extraordinary man after confirming the identity of the uncle. So Yu Seong-Ryong obeyed request of the uncle and could defended a spy invasion of Japanese raiders with the uncle. The uncle also could defend hometown Andong by Yu Seong- Ryong favor. These series of process meaned establishing relationship of self and the other through suggestion and recognition, and realizing social value through cooperation. They also connoted realistic desire and measures of the people of the day who looked forward to solve social problems and to realize alternative world.
