Currently, the demand and interest of domestic performing culture industry have been steadily continued. Among them, musicals are the highest genre of production and consumption, and the number of people enjoying them is gradually increasing. As a result, the role and scope of the public service space, which is mainly used by audiences, are becoming diverse and changing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the components of the public space Blue Square, a theater dedicated to the musical, was selected as the subject of this study. The research focused on the components of the public service space through theoretical considerations, and the characteristics and layout of each element were identified. In addition, the current status of Blue Square was analyzed before and after remodeling and the spatial analysis was conducted. As a result, the sloped site of the Blue Square makes it possible to enter and exit at various levels. Also, the appropriate position of the entrance and the core leads the efficient vertical circulation line of the audiences. In addition, the location of the ticket office is highly accessible, but relocation is required because of the insufficient space and inconvenient circulation. The resting and waiting space had a lack of furniture arrangement due to small size of the hall, but remodeling the F & B has secured a lot of second resting space. There is also a problem-free convenient facility. In conclusion, Blue Square has improved efficiency and convenience of public service spaces through remodeling and is transforming into a modern public service space. In addition to Blue Square, remodeling of public service spaces is occurring. Therefore, changes and developments in public service spaces in the performing arts are continuously needed, and related research is needed continuously in academia.
