This study aims to propose space planning for the elderly-friendly smart home based on user preference and activity. Recently, Korea has entered the aging society and is expected to become the super-aged society in 2030. Therefore, there is an emerging need for elderly-friendly residential space. In the super-aged society, it is important to provide healthcare services in everyday life. In case of complete self-reliance, crime prevention/a plan for preventing disasters of hardware side and seal sensor of software side, behavior recognition sensor, automatic calling service(schedule management) were applied. In case of part dependence, entrance plan of hardware side and automatic calling service(taking pill and medical related) of software side were added. In case of complete dependence, automatic calling service(emergency and safety confirmation), mat sensor, guide service which are software side were added for planning element of complete self-reliance and part dependence. For this purpose, theoretical investigation and advanced researches were conducted. As a conclusion, the space planning elements for the elderly-friendly smart home based on user preference and activity are proposed, which will be used as a basis for spatial model considering user preference and activity. This research make the aged’s life better that contribute vitalization of healthcare base advanced age friendly smart-home, and is expected to be used for baseline data of research for sustainability improvement of residential environment from now on.
