Many Korean students stayed in their school from early morning to late afternoon with their friends and students spend most of their life at the primary․secondary school buildings. Most of the school, a shape and a material of elevations are monotonous and uniform and it makes students are hard to attach to their schools. So the architectural design of educational eacilities is very important to students, for giving an emotional response and sensitive environments. Finish material that used in Educational Facilities can make the students' behavior and emotion change in the various methods. The Purpose of this study is providing a design method of exterior, interior finish materials as expressing design elements. The design expression of finish material can be divided for material color, material texture, material pattern that should be defined as the elements of design. First, a case study was processed with 25 abroad educational facility examples and focused on the usage of finish material and wiith 10 examples on the expression of material, color, texture and pattern. As a powerful design tool, a finish materials can make a effective and emotional space with texture and pattern. Natural material and material color should be important position for students to feel the good emotion. The design expression of finish material is very effective to alter the perception and cognition of human with their emotion.
