The color environment of patient's room as healing space is very important visual perception environment in the psychological, mental and therapeutic aspects. Application of color to space should be done in consideration with purpose of the space, environmental factors and elements about users. Therefore, in the aspect of color environment, In this study, research and analysis are done on color environment applied to patients' rooms, which are patients' living space for direct cure, using NCS(Natural Color System), which is widely used recently in the field of color research, and then the color characteristics of the therapeutic aspect are integrated. Thus, the purpose of this study is to function as color basic research material for patient's room, the healing space. The spatial scope of the study was patient's room and adjacent corridor that affect patients directly. In addition, regarding colorimetric study through field survey, NCS color code was extracted through 1st naked eye colorimetry based on photo shoot, 2nd physical colorimetry by colorimetric device and 3rd contrasting colorimetry process by NCS color atlas. Characteristics analysis was categorized into individual analysis of each hospital, analysis per each color element and NCS nuance analysis. For the main points, patient's room was divided into main color, complementary color, accent color and the whole space, and then they were assorted into color code and sample, NCS color wheel, NCS color triangle and NCS nuance analysis framework. Based on the analyzed details, the current situation of color was integrated. In this study, the actual field color research in the therapeutic aspect was performed, and the current situation of color of patient's room and characteristics that directly affect patients was studied. In the color elements, overall Y and R groups were distributed the most, and some parts of surrounding colors of B and G groups were applied and made patients mentally feel warm and comfortable. Accent colors were analyzed to consider conveyance of distinction. Considering the above details, in application of color to patient's room in the future, psychological parts of patients, who are main users, should be considered, so arrangement of various colors should be developed and applied because there is visibility but not enough color arrangement elements. Color plan should be more diversified based on patient's spatial elements instead of being limited within Y-R groups.
