This study aim to determine the morpheme meaning and semantic function of the conjunctive ending ‘-neunde’. The semantic function should be determined by what function an antecedent clause does for a following clause. Unlike the semantic function, the morpheme meaning of the conjunctive ending ‘-neunde’ should be determined by an antecedent clause in the context of the utterance. The morpheme meaning of the conjunctive ending ‘-neunde’ is to recall the hidden or embeded content, which is derived from a speaker’s past experience, of the proposition with which ‘-neunde’ is combinded. In addition, the semantic function of ‘-neunde’ is to contrast the following clause with the antecedent clause. In this case, the antecedent clause is the object that is contrasted from the antecedent cllause. This study is meaningful in that it enables educators to clearly explain the useage of the conjunctive ending ‘-neunde’ and suggests the educational plan can reduce Korean language learners’incorrect usage of ‘-neunde’, which is one of the common errors they commit.
