Multiple Subject Constructions (MSCs) have been one of the interesting topics in Korean syntax, and there have been lots of studies on this topic. Among the studies, Yoon (2004, 2009, 2015) pointed out that two interpretive properties (Characteristic and Newsworthy) play an important role in making MSCs acceptable to the native speakers. Kim (2015) adopted this idea in her experimental study and showed that these two interpretive properties played a role in Korean native speakers’ knowledge of MSCs. This paper applied more statistical analyses to Kim’s (2015) study and investigated how these two interpretive properties affected the acceptability of MSCs. We first adopted a multinomial regression test to examine (i) how these two interpretive properties affected the acceptability of MSCs and (ii) if there is any interaction between these two factors. Then, we applied the predict() function and correlation tests to statistically examine which factor was more powerful. Through the analysis, the following facts were observed: (i) both Characteristic and Newsworthy play a role independently, (ii) there is no interaction between these two factors, and (iii) Newsworthy finally had more powerful influence than Characteristic in the acceptability of MSCs.
