Manufacturing environment requires a unlimited competition due to the diversity in customer’ needs, a price competition and the globalization of information. For the ground mentioned, a reasonable performance evaluation is needed to facilitate an efficient operation of both facilities and asset in the manufacturing processes. The typical evaluation factors of TPM(total productive maintenance) was similar to those of the maintenance management. However, appraisal factors in the maintenance management should be adopted to identify maintenance activities. For evaluating the maintenance management effectiveness with maintenance activities, some important activities should be considered such as maintenance strategy, periodic maintenance, RCM(reliablity centered maintenance), CBM(condition based maintenance), maintenance information system and so forth. Through extensive literature review and referring enterprise cases, this study is to offer new appraisal factors in maintenance management so that it can commonly select appropriate appraisal factors in the field of maintenance management. Effective appraisal factors in maintenance management using the evaluation factors provided was throughly investigated in this study.
