Intraosseous access is increasingly utilised for resuscitative vascular access and the proximal humeral site is preferred by some providers. Arm movements have previously been shown to dislodge these catheters. We report the deformation of a humeral intraosseous catheter due to abduction and external rotation of the humerus to facilitate open thoracostomy in a trauma patient.
