As the number of small-sized households increases in Korea, the number of small and medium-sized flat apartment households is also increasing. Accordingly, there is a problem that the plane is uniform. The purpose of this study is to categorize lifestyles by examining prior researches on lifestyles related to housing, for identifying the flat requirements, and use variable walls, interior finishing materials, furniture and home appliances to overcome the uniformity of small and medium-sized apartment flats according to each lifestyle. The subjects of this study were limited to those in their 20s and 50s living in small and medium-sized cities who had experience living in apartments of 85㎥ or less. As for the method of this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted with 64 items consisting of items related to general characteristics, items related to housing preference, items related to lifestyle types, and items related to floor plan requirements. In this study, lifestyle types were classified into four types: practicality-oriented, aesthetic and individualistic, family-oriented, and nature-oriented, and the family-centered type were the highest at 37.6% each. As a result of analyzing each residential preference for the floor plan, it seemed necessary to introduce the Alpha Room for leisure and storage enhancement in all flats. And storage furniture and storage space seemed necessary.
