Objectives: This study is to enhance the awareness of the dental hygiene students and let them become competent and provide basic data for follow-up study of dental hygiene. Methods: A total of 146 dental hygiene students were selected for the four-point scale questionnaires including the perception, influence, utilization index of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the competence development of dental hygienist and importance of 10 core competencies. The overall perception of the fourth industrial revolution by general characteristics was analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. For questions on the competence development of dental hygienist, multiple responses were analyzed and the importance of the 10 core competences was carried out by technical statistics. Stat used IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and the significant probability was 0.05. Results: The gab between perception level of mean of 1st grade students 2.72±0.60(SD) and of 4th grade students 2.19±0.79(SD) shows meaningful distinction. The utilization degree was the lowest in the 1st grade students 3.13±0.52(SD). Students gave rank 10th to solving complexity as the core competencies contrasting to the Davos Forum ranked it for the 1st.
