In the phantom produced by mixing fat and water, the suppression of fat was evaluatedin the pulse sequence of Turbo Inversion Recovery Magnitude (TRIM) and the image of T2weighted image and FLAIR. The MR scan was made by scanning a phantom mixed with waterand fat using a head coil with pulse sequences of TIRM, T2 and FLAIR. Background noise, SNRand CNR were measured by setting the ROI on the water and fat areas in the phantom scan image. Fat was eliminated in the TIRM pulse sequence, and fat elimination was partially eliminated inFLAIR. However, in the T2 pulse sequence, fat was not eliminated and chemical migration to waterand fat was 1.12 mm. In the TIRM pulse sequence of the water measured SNR, 372.24±25.35, T2 was 77.84±5.14, FLAIR was 115.41±3.45, the highest value in the TIRM pulse sequence, fat SNR was 4.77±1 in the TIRM pulse sequence, and T2 was 76.64±6.85, FLAIR was measured as 15.48±1.21, the highest value at T2. In CNR, the TIRM pulse sequence was 308.6±42.67, T2 weighted image was 1.05±0.18, and FLAIR was 28.81±1.83, which showed the highest CNR in the TIRM pulse sequence. In this study, the TIRM pulse sequence was applied to evaluate the superior pulse sequence with high SNR and CNR and to eliminate fat, and it is a pulse sequence useful in the diagnosis of disease through elimination of fat in the clinic.
