This study aims at basic research for selecting educational vocabulary for Korean learners for academic purposes by comparing Korean textbooks for academic purpose with the vocabulary list presented in 'Developing Korean Vocabulary Education Contents'. As a result of the quantitative analysis of academic purpose textbooks and proficiency vocabulary, a 233 vocabulary did not match the list of “Developing Korean Vocabulary Education Contents” and the vocabulary was reclassified as subjects by mastery level. There were 59 intermediate vocabulary words, and according to themes, many vocabulary related to 'health', 'school life', 'computer and internet'. In addition, there are 174 high-level vocabularies and many topics are included in ‘education’, ‘economics and management’.
