This study is aimed at unearthing the effects of smart factory-based operational strategies on business performance and sustainable use intention in small and medium-sized manufacturing firms. As a result, the smart factory-based operational strategies had a significant effect on business performance. Second, facility automation, big data utilization, and internal and external integration factors had a significant effect on sustainable use intention. Third, business performance had a significant effect on sustainable use intention. Fourth, business performance played a significant mediating role in the effects of facility automation, work automation, and internal and external integration factors on sustainable use intention. Which confirmed that facility automation, work automation, big data utilization, and internal and external integration factors as operational strategies for a smart factory are useful as drivers of boosting business performance as mechanisms of increasing sustainable use intention. Consequently, the input of these operational strategies can maximize the efficiency of the introduction of a smart factory by promoting sustainable use intention according to the mediating role of business performance.
