In this paper, It is the purpose to compare the characteristics of phonological phenomena with the inscription of 『Cheophaesineo』(Chophae Shin Language) (1676, first edition) in the 17th century and the 『GeasuCheophaesineo』(Gaesu Chophaeshin Language) (1748, first revision) in the mid-18th century. In case of the Korean writing methodic feature, syllable final consonant ‘ㅅ’ writing, continual writing and double spelling writing were prominent in the 『Cheophaesineo』. A fortis of the word-medial was denoted by ‘ㄲ, ㅺ, ㄸ, ㅼ, ㅽ’ while an intervocalic ‘ㄹㄹ’ notation showed. In the 『GeasuCheo phaesineo』, syllable coda ‘ㄷ’, an double spelling, seperated writing were noticeable. The fortis of the word-medial was denoted by ‘ㅆ, ㅼ, ㅳ, ㄸ, ㅽ, ㅶ ㅺ’ while ‘ㄹㄴ’ Orthography between vowels showed. In case of the phonological phenomena ‘ㅎ’ palatalization was appeared while t- palatalization and round-vowelization did not show in the former. On the other hand in the latter, t-palatalization occur in a phonological and morphological environment, As well as round-vowelization appeared in morpheme boundary and inside of morpheme. In addition, we can find various phonological phenomena such as aspiratization which occurred in word- initial and word- medial, /l/deletion, /n/deletion, /h/deletion, addition of semi-vowels /w/ and /y/ and dissmimation. The characteristics of the 17th-century orthography and phonological phenomenon, which were reviewed in the 『Cheophaesineo』 that although the latter period of the Middle-korean' features was partly marked, it showed the beginning of the phonological phenomenon and phonetic transcription of the early modern Korean language. This is seen in the 18th century's 『GeasuCheophaesineo』 as a change in the pre-modern Korean language, moving away from the late Middle language. It can be seen that the literature reflects higher level of grammatical recognition than the previous period although it was an incomplete.
