Cellulose-based films are potential alternatives for synthetic polymer films due to their inherent biocompatibility and biodegradability. In this study, to prepare cellulose-based composite films, cellulose was blended with various biopolymers by co-dissolution in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate, followed by coagulation with ethanol. Various cellulose-based films were obtained by blending bacterial cellulose, cyclodextrin, dextran, starch, agarose, agar, arabic gum, carrageenan, chitosan, tragacanth gum, xanthan gum, xylan, lignin, gelatin, collagen, and silk.
