The purpose of this study was to provide additional helpful data for formulating policies and directions for the elementary education of children from multicultural families as well as increase their life satisfaction at home and in school. The study participants comprised eight students in grades 4-6 of elementary school, who lived in cities A and Y, which are urban-rural complexes in northern Gyeongsangbuk-do. The fathers of the participants were Korean and their mothers were from Northeast and Southeast Asia. The main results of the transcribed and analyzed voice-recorded data from the 50–60-minute interviews of the participants are as follows: First, the participants felt healthy and showed a tendency to evaluate themselves positively. Second, most of the participants did not seem to face any serious difficulties in their family life. Third, the participants showed they were friendly with their companions and trusted and followed the teachers, indicating that they were well adapted to school life with no special difficulties. Fourth, some participants had a clear dream for the future and felt the need for external support and help from friends for studies. Given the reality that we are facing serious problems due to our society’s aging population and the decrease in the child and adolescent population, a new primary and secondary education policy should be established to raise the children of multicultural families as a global talent pool for the future generation.
