Thermal molecular motion in the outermost region of polymer films strongly impact on various material functions. Here we propose a novel concept for the two-dimensional (2D) regulation of chain dynamics at the water interface based on the introduction of silica nanoparticles (SiNP) into a polymer film, leading to the 2D-patterning of the fibroblast adhesion.
