Thermotropic liquid crystal polymers (TLCPs) are super engineering plastics characterized by outstanding mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and easy melt-processibility in the liquid crystalline state above the melting temperature. On the other hand, the very fast crystallization or solidification rate of TLCPs causes the microstructural differences between surface and center, resulting in the formation of a core-shell structure for the molded material.
