Abnormal melanogenesis by UV exposure causes excessive oxidative stress, which leads to skin hyperpigmentation including age spots, melasma, and freckles. The present study investigated the inhibitory effect of decursin on melanogenesis and its underlying mechanism through in vitro, ex vivo, and in silico approaches. Decursin showed no cytotoxicity, and significantly decreased the intracellular tyrosinase activity and melanin production in B16F10 melanoma cells.
